Approach and Experience

Carey offers individual, couple and family therapy where she integrates psychological therapies including Somatic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

Carey has a keen interest in how gut health and the use of body movement and mindfulness complements psychotherapy in the achievement of well-being.

Carey has always worked closely with other professionals to provide joint, comprehensive care for her clients.

She has been a part of the NHS in the UK working closely with General Practitioners within GP surgeries helping adults overcome many difficulties including anxiety, OCD and depression.

Carey has a special interest in working with individual’s and families who suffer with eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder and obesity and has specialist qualifications and experience in this area.

Carey’s work in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services team, at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney and Tunbridge Wells Hospital UK have provided her with in-depth experience in working with families, parents and young adults in distress.

She has also worked within the university system offering counselling and therapy to students and university staff.

Carey’s passion is helping her clients reframe conflict, crisis and pain in their lives as an opportunity to heal and grow
