Liz Bennett
With decades of clinical experience behind her, Liz can help you restore movement after injuries, illness or surgery, and support you in ongoing self management and prevention strategies including Physiotherapy, Clinical Pilates, exercise and therapeutic Yoga.
Liz works with you to manage the underlying causes of dysfunction, assessing and treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Her mission is for every one of her clients to progress towards the things in life that bring them meaning, independence and better quality of life, be that surfing, riding bikes or picking up your grandkids.
You can expect to be provided with quality hands-on assessment and treatment, including massage and acupuncture.
Liz offers a diverse skill set of holistic and evidence based strategies for people living with chronic pain, arthritis, acute injuries and rehab. She is a trauma informed and pain aware practitioner.
As Liz has practiced and taught yoga for over twenty years, she has particular interests in hyper-mobility, spinal pain and hip problems, all of which are conditions which often draw people to yoga, but can be aggravated through an inappropriate or uninformed approach.
Liz is a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia, Yoga Therapy Committee member, and past presenter at the Australian Yoga Therapy Conference. As an Applied Anatomy teacher she has delivered many Yoga Teacher Trainings and workshops on injury prevention.
Founder of Balanced Practice Yoga in Warriewood, Liz and Amelia Disspain run Balanced Practice Yoga Teacher Trainings and Total Escape Retreats in Byron Bay, Portugal and Bali.
She’s passionate about making Yoga and Pilates accessible and tailored. Whether an experienced practitioner or beginner, Liz can help you to develop and adapt a routine individualised to the needs of your body, no matter what your age.
On her days off, Liz loves to do Pilates or yoga and she is a passionate mountain biker. She balances an active lifestyle with Vipassana meditation and spending time with her family.
Her mentors include the Canadian pain specialist, Physiotherapist and Professor Neil Pearson, and Yoga Therapists Vina Shah and Saraswathi Vasudhevan.
