Nutrigenomic Testing

Welcome to Therapy Works. You can find our integrated health clinic at Suite 3b/367 Barrenjoey Rd Newport NSW 2106. We offer a range of clinical testing services: Mood and cognition profiling, nutrigenomic profiles, detoxification profiles and hormone and fertility profiles.

Nutrigenomics provides a deeper understanding of how gene expression can be affected by the food we eat. Nutrigenomics may help to identify contributing factors to long term low nutrient levels and symptoms of nutrient deficiencies.

What do the results mean?

At Therapy Works, we want to treat the root cause of your presenting condition. To help us do this, we want to know more about how nutrients are metabolised, absorbed and utilised and how they affect your gene expression.

By understanding the nutrients that are best suited to your genetic profile, we can prescribe personalised treatment plans. These plans may help overall health and wellbeing, or may help to prevent chronic illness.

What biological functions are better understood through this profile?

The Nutrigenomic profile helps to identify key single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with:

  • Nutrient metabolism, enzyme and receptor function
  • The metabolism and impact of essential nutrients such as vitamins A, C, D, E and B12, as well as folate, glutathione and CoQ10

Is this test for you?

You may benefit from this test if you experience:

  • Chronic or general fatigue
  • Low energy
  • Poor nutritional status (despite a healthy diet)
  • Poor wound healing or recurrent infections

You may also benefit if you have a general interest in health and wellbeing and maintaining a health lifestyle.
